Becoming a Certificate Candidate

In order to become a candidate for the Certificate in Teaching College Biology, you need to complete the Candidacy Declaration Form and the Graduate Certificate Program Application.

By completing the Candidacy Declaration Form you will establish a plan and timeline for completing the certificate and will obtain the endorsement of your thesis adviser for participating in the Certificate program.

The Graduate Certificate Program Application must be completed in order for the graduate school to recognize your participation in the Certificate program.

Once you have completed the forms, please submit them to the program director, Alyssa Perz-Edwards, by campus mail: Box 90338, Biology Department, Duke University, Durham, NC 27705; or in person at: 0054 Biological Sciences, 125 Science Drive.

Note: Candidacy Declaration Forms are accepted on a rolling basis. The Graduate Certificate Program Application must be turned in by the end of the first week of classes in a given semester in order to have your enrollment in the program recognized for that semester.
