The Fern* Labs Database is maintained by Kathleen Pryer (Duke University), Eric Schuettpelz (Smithsonian Institution), and Carl Rothfels (UC Berkeley). It is used to store and manage published and unpublished data associated with herbarium specimens. It includes voucher specimen details, identifications, information on silica-dried material availability, and DNA sequences, as well as spore size and chromosome count data.
