The Yeast Model Systems Genomics Group (YMSG) is dedicated to facilitating model organism research, helping you take advantage of the tremendous genetic and genomic resources available for yeast. We aim to provide a resource for the yeast community, as well as researchers working in other areas (human disease, evolution, etc) who are interested in undertaking yeast screens or studies.

Yeast Two-Hybrid Screening. We are currently set up for yeast two hybrid and other screens. Our fees are low (we charge for supplies and labor only), and are likely cheaper than if you were to carry out the screen yourself, especially if you are not set up for yeast work. If you are at another university, we are happy to arrange payment and transfer of clones by mail. Yeast Two Hybrid

Consultation / Collaboration. If you have an experiment you think would be suited for yeast, please contact us and we can help you design and carry out the study. We have space in our lab for grad students/postdocs to work and can also provide training.

Yeast Resources. We have yeast vectors and strains available for Duke researchers. These include yeast expression vectors, two-hybrid vectors, and genomic sets of deletion strains, GFP strains, and TAP-tagged strains. Check out our list of available strains.

Recombination-based Cloning. Have a tough cloning job? No ideal enzyme sites for subcloning? We can help you clone by homologous recombination using yeast!

Technology Development. We are working to expand current technologies and develop novel yeast tools.
