Thomas Mitchell-Olds is Professor of Biology at Duke University.  He obtained his Ph.D. in Botany and in the Program in Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics at the University of Wisconsin, followed by a postdoc in human genetics.  He spent nine years as Director of the Max-Planck Institute of Chemical Ecology, and has recently returned to the USA.
