Herbarium Phone: (919) 660 7308 The Duke Fungal Herbarium was established by Duke mycologist Rytas Vilgalys in the early 1990's. The herbarium consists mainly of basidiomycete collections with special emphasis on Agaricales. Rust collections of Solheim & Cummins (Mycoflora Saximontanensis Exsiccata) are also housed at Duke. Specimens of Septobasidium, collected by Dr. Daniel Henk for his dissertation research, are among the most recent additions. There are about 8,000 fungal specimens and 12 types. Geographic focus: southeastern United States, Thailand, Australia.
