General Information
- Abstract submissions through March 31 will be included in the program booklet, and will be considered, if requested, for platform presentation.
"Late Abstracts" may be submitted up until April 30. These abstracts will not be included in the program booklet, but they will be photocopied and handed out with the booklet at the meeting. They will also be incorporated into the on-line collection of abstracts, and we hope to have poster board space available for all submissions. So write up those hot new results! We want to hear all about it.
If you have already submitted an abstract, please verify that we have it by checking the list of submissions. This page will be updated frequently.
- If possible, please submit your abstract using the web form below.
If you are unable to submit your abstract through the web form,
then send an e-mail message to Elizabeth Harris, using the
subject line Chlamy abstract form, or contact
Elizabeth Harris, Chlamydomonas Genetics Center, Department of Biology, Duke
University, Durham NC 27708-0338 USA.
- Abstracts for platform presentation will be selected by the convenors of each session. Abstracts not selected for platform presentation will be assigned to one of the two poster sessions. You will be notified of your program placement by April 15.
If you do not want your abstract to be
considered for platform presentation, please check poster
only on the form below.

See the Chlamydomonas 2006

Abstract Submission
Abstracts submitted are considered to be in their final form.
Please be sure to check thoroughly for errors before submitting the
abstract, including names, addresses, and e-mail addresses.
If a correction becomes absolutely necessary, a new abstract can be submitted.
If this happens, please also send a message to Elizabeth Harris, notifying us to delete the erroneous abstract.
Preparing your abstract
- Please start by writing your abstract using a word processor.
Use 12 point Times New Roman font with a width of 16.5 cm.
- Begin with the title in bold face.
Use lower case except for the first word and proper names.
- Start a new line for the names of the authors.
Put only the name of the presenting author in bold face.
- Start a new line for their addresses
Skip one line
Then start the abstract, with no indentation.
- Now print your trial abstract.
It should be no more than 26 lines total - including the title, authors, affiliations, and the space between the affiliations and the abstract body.
Using the default spacing in Word, you'll probably find that 26 lines will be about 12.6 cm long. If you adjust your line spacing to "exactly 12 pt", however, then it will be 11 cm long.
We will adjust the line spacing in the formatted booklet, so all you need to do is make sure the width is 16.5 cm, and the total length is no more than 26 lines. This will enable us to print two abstracts per page in the booklet without crowding.
- When it's ready, then enter the sections by copying and pasting into the forms below.
