I’m assisting on a project examining nutrient and organic matter processing in urban, restored and forested reference sites in the Durham area. I’m working with several other people in the Bernhardt lab on the field work and laboratory analyses for this project.
My research interests include nutrient cycling in urban stream ecosystems. I am also interested in the ecological effectiveness of stream restoration projects. My master’s thesis project was a compilation and evaluation of stream restoration projects in the Chesapeake Bay watershed (associated with the National River Restoration Science Synthesis project).
