Organ formation depends on coordinated development of the cells and tissues that make up that organ. In plants, environmental signals also impinge on growth and development. Coordination of endogenous and exogenous cues into developmental decisions requires intricate cell-cell communication. My research aims are to identify molecules that function in cell-cell signaling, assemble these molecules into signaling pathways, and address the roles of these pathways in Arabidopsis root development. |
